Certain questions have stayed with me throughout my life.

One of them is how we make meaning of our lives.

What continues to sustain my curiosity is paying attention, to books, conversations, making art, the ordinary moments in life and relationships that quietly shape us.

Although those paths seem different, they've gradually led me to the same place: paying closer attention to the way we see ourselves, one another, and the world around us.
I created The Space Between as a place to explore those questions, especially the ways creativity, relationships, and aging, shape the stories we tell about our lives.
The reflections you'll find here draw from years of listening, making, reading, and living.
They aren't meant to offer neat answers so much as thoughtful companionship for the questions many of us carry.
I live in New Mexico with my husband, Max, and our cat, Luna, who runs the household with quiet confidence. When I'm not writing, I'm usually in the mosaic studio, working on pieces you can find at Pam Givens Mosaics.
I'm glad our paths have crossed.
