Adrian Paci

Adrian Paci is an Albanian-born contemporary artist whose work moves among painting, photography, video, installation and mosaic. His work often explores migration, memory, identity and the ways personal experience becomes part of a larger human story.

What caught my attention was his use of mosaic within this much broader practice. Paci has worked with marble, enamel, resin and other materials, using mosaic not simply as another way of making an image, but as a medium particularly suited to ideas of fragmentation, reconstruction and memory.

I am drawn to artists who allow mosaic to move beyond the boundaries we sometimes give it.

In Paci's work, the fragment isn't merely a method of construction. The fragment becomes part of the meaning.
